April 17th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
*Attention 9th graders: On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week you will be taking the MAP Reading exam in English class. Please be sure to arrive to class with your fully charged Chromebook! Please see Ms. Jarvis with any testing questions.

*Do you like poetry, short stories, fantastic artwork and free food?  If so, come out to the 3rd annual Jefferson Literary Magazine release party this Thursday, April 19 at 6:30pm in the Media Center.  There will be student readings and a professional author and editor panel. The magazine, The Crooked Quill, will be on sale for $5 each.  Come support all the artistic and creative students we have here at Jefferson.  Any questions? See Mr. Hupton in room C5.

*Attention AP students, tomorrow during advisory there is a mandatory meeting for all students taking AP Exams in May. Check in with your Advisory teacher and then head straight to the auditorium. Bring a pen and a pencil, and grab 1 form and 1 booklet as you enter the auditorium. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Lang in C104.

*Attention Outdoor enthusiasts.  Operation Adventure wants you. O.A. '18 is open for sign ups. If you like camping, canoeing, kayaking, eating and hanging with friends, come along on Operation Adventure.  Sign up forms are in Mr. Leverenz room, C127, and are due by April 29th.

MISC:
*Lost and Found tables have been set up in Flag Hall. Please check for lost clothing items, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Check for smaller or more valuable items in the Main Office.

*Attention Seniors! Are you interested in being one of the student speakers at graduation? If so, check your email or stop by the Main Office for more details. Speeches are due to the Main Office by Monday, April 30. See Ms. Jarvis with any questions.

*Box City Vigil registration forms are now available in the Main Office. T-shirt order forms will be due by Wednesday, April 25th. Turn in all forms to Flora or bring them to the Main Office.

*The Media Center staff will be holding a drawing with a prize going the person who comes closest to guessing the number of books in the Media Center. Enter your name and your best guess by Thursday, April 26th.

*Diversity day is coming May 4th.  You can participate up to 3 different ways:
1) Enter your work in the Poetry and Spoken Word contest, where the top prize is $100
2) Set up a Diversity Day Booth
3) Participate in the Peace Run & Celebration.
Pick up all applications in the Main Office and submit them before 3:30pm this Friday, April 20th.  Plan ahead and join in the celebration!

*The Senior All-Night Party for the Class of 2018 is just around the corner. Register early for a chance to win a gift card. Be sure to register before May 18th to avoid a $10 fee increase. Forms can be picked up in the Main Office.
