*Are you interested in helping produce award winning television for cable and streaming? BEC-TV is holding basic training sessions on Dec. 3rd or Dec. 5th. Work with the broadcast quality production team to help cover Bloomington sports, concerts, and more. No prior experience is necessary and there is no cost to participate. ACTIVITIES:
*Any Jefferson student interested in auditioning for the bass and treble a cappella singing groups can get audition materials outside the choir room, E100. Auditions are anytime before or after school this week and it only takes 3 minutes to audition.

CAREER/COLLEGE CENTER:
*Juniors and Seniors, if you are interested in a career in healthcare and want to earn college credits towards being a nursing assistant, come to an informational meeting this Thursday, November 15, at 9:00 am in the Career Center. See Ms. Wallerick for a pass.

MISC:
*Seniors, if you have not yet verified your legal name for your diploma, please see Mrs. Reilly in the Counseling Office as soon as possible. We want to make sure that we have the correct spelling for your name before the diplomas are printed.

If you have not turned in your cap and gown order, it’s very important that you bring it to Mrs. Duffy in the Main Office as soon as possible.

ACTIVITIES:
The final informational meeting for SCUBA Club will be this Thursday after school in room C126. See Mr. Stenbeck if you have any questions.

ATHLETICS:
*There will be an important baseball meeting for all 9th-12th graders planning on playing baseball this spring.  The meeting will be this Friday at 7:30am in the Jefferson Activity Center. If you are unable to attend, please see coach Gess during the day on Friday.

*There will be a Wrestling Informational Meeting for any student interested in wrestling on the Jefferson/Kennedy combined team. The meeting is tomorrow, November 14th, at 2:30pm in Kennedy High School room 317.

NOVEMBER 9th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATHLETICS:
*The JHS Cheer Jam Competition is here at Jefferson tomorrow, November 10th. Competition begins at 10:30am and all are welcomed to attend.

*Congratulations to Jaguar swimmer Kailee Shermak who broke the JHS 100-meter fly record at section prelims on Wednesday night. Swim finals are today at Minnetonka East Middle School with diving at 1pm and swimming at 6pm. Come on out and cheer on your Jaguar swimmers!


*Freshman Boys Basketball tryouts start next Wednesday, November 14th and will go through Friday, November 16th. All candidates must complete all of the requirements to be eligible for basketball PRIOR to Wednesday’s tryout. See Mr. Evens if you have any questions.

*There will be a boys' volleyball open gym in the main gym after school today from 3 to 5 PM. Bring $5 and be ready to play!

MISC:
*This school year, JagCorps has chosen to raise awareness and raise funds for the fight against cancer. We will be having a school-wide spirit week next week, November 12th-16th, representing the colors for different types of cancer.

Monday: wear pink for breast cancer awareness
Tuesday: wear grey for brain cancer awareness
Wednesday: wear light blue for prostate cancer awareness
Thursday: wear white for lung cancer awareness
Friday: wear lavender/purple for awareness of all types of cancer.

JagCorps has designed lavender shirts that will be sold during all the lunch periods throughout the week. The shirts will cost $10 each.

Also, starting Monday the 12th, there will be a competition for first hour classes to see which class can raise the most money, with the winning class receiving breakfast that includes Sunrise Donuts, fruit and juice. Please consider bringing in a donations for the fight against cancer.

ACTIVITIES:
*SPEECH STUDENTS: We will have an all-team speech meeting tonight, Monday, November 5 from  6:30 PM to 7:00 PM in room B104 at Jefferson. We will be handing forms that need to be completed and will talk about the upcoming season. See you there!

ATHLETICS:

*Jefferson will have three open gym dates for boys' volleyball coming up. If you are interested in playing boys' volleyball this spring, come to one or all three open gyms:
  Tuesday, November 6 from 6 to 9 pm
  Friday, November 9 from 3 to 5 pm
  Tuesday, November 13 from 6 to 9 pm
Students should bring $5 for the open gym and be prepared to play! Contact Mr. Sieling for more information.

*Boys Basketball captains’ practice begins today after school in the Activity Center from 3-5pm. Practices will be held at the same time each weekday for the next two weeks.

Today is your last chance to check out the lost and found tables in Flag Hall. Any unclaimed items by the end the school day will be donated. You can ask about smaller items, electronic items, and sporting good items in the main office. New items have been added each day, so be sure to take a last look!

*The topic for this week’s Career Spotlight Speaker of the Week is Human Resources. The session will be tomorrow, Nov. 2, at 10:00am in the Career Center. See Mrs. Wallerick with any questions.

MISC:
*Lost and found tables have been set up in Flag Hall with clothing items, lunch bags, and water bottles. Smaller items, electronic items, and sports items are in the main office along with any items that were turned in this week. Check the tables and ask in the Main Office if you’re missing anything.  Items not claimed by the end of the school day on Friday will be donated.
