DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS: September 30, 201

 ACTIVITIES:
*Attention 9th graders!
 A reminder that the 9th grade retreat starts tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1 for students with last names A-L. Students with the last names M-Z will attend the retreat on Friday, October 4.

All students will report directly to the Auditorium on their designated day; all students must be in the auditorium by 7:50 AM to be considered on time. This is a required event for 9th-grade students.

We advise you to leave your backpacks and valuables at home on this day; there will not be a place for you to store your bags and valuables during the retreat. You are welcome to put your belongings in your locker prior to the retreat. A bag lunch will be available for purchase on this day; you are also welcome to bring your own lunch.

Please stop by the Main Office with any questions.

CAREER/COLLEGE CENTER:

MISC:
*Dinosaurs before Dark is an adaptation of the award-winning fantasy books from the Magic Tree House book series. Jack and Annie discover a tree house full of books while exploring one day and find that they have been transported back to the time of the dinosaurs. Come and watch the Jefferson Theater Company bring this book to life. Performances are October 3, 4, 5 @ 7pm and October 5, 6 @1pm.

*Picture Retake Day is on Monday between 8:00AM and noon for students who had their picture taken and wish to have it re-done or for students who have not yet had their picture taken. If you are choosing to have picture retakes, be sure to bring your original picture package with you! This will be the LAST CHANCE to have your picture taken!

*The Eco Club (formerly HOPE Club) will have a meeting today after school in the Media Center.

MISC:

Head to the cafeteria between 8:15 and 10:15 to purchase your favorite breakfast treats and beverages. As always, paying with one-dollar bills would be greatly appreciated. Make sure to plan ahead so that you can visit the coffeehouse and still arrive to your classes on time.

*Students, please check your schedule on Infinite Campus for your Academic Seminar room assignments for today.

*Remember to show your school spirit tomorrow by decking out in blue and white!

*Boys who are playing in the Powderbuff Boys Volleyball Tournament tonight should come to the main gym at 6:30PM to get their t-shirts and to warm up.  The games will start at 7:00PM.

*The spirit wear theme for tomorrow is PAJAMAS!

*Attention any boys interested in Lacrosse: Coach Cater will have an informational meeting during the second half of Advisory on Wednesday. This boys lacrosse meeting will be held in Coach Cater’s room, C107, beginning at 9:55 tomorrow.

CAREER/COLLEGE CENTER:
*A Financial Aid Information Session is being held tonight at 6:30PM in the Jefferson Media Center for any student or parent interested in learning more about paying for college. 

MISC:
*Attention 9th graders: On Wednesday & Thursday of this week you will be taking the MAP Reading exam in English 09 class. Please be sure to arrive to class with your fully charged Chromebook! All students in 3rd or 4th hour English will take 3rd lunch on MAP testing days! Please see Ms. Jarvis with any testing questions.

*Tomorrow’s spirit wear theme is USA. Be sure to deck out in your best red, white, and blue.

*Homecoming tickets are on sale this week in the cafeteria during lunch. Tickets are $15 each. Remember, you will not be allowed to purchase a ticket if you have any outstanding fines on the obligations list. You can check for obligations in Infinite Campus by clicking on the FEES tab.

If you want to be in our 2nd Annual Powderbuff Boys' Volleyball tournament, sign up this week and next during lunch.  The cost is $10 and includes a Powderbuff t-shirt. Proceeds from the tournament will support the Jefferson Boys' Volleyball team this spring.  See Mr. Sieling in B104 for more information.

*Homecoming is just around the corner. To help celebrate, let's start off with the traditional vote for Homecoming Court!  If you wish to be considered or you wish to nominate someone in your same grade, please stop in the counseling office. Bring your friend with you as they must be present to be nominated. The vote will take place September 16. 

TEAMS/CLUBS:
*All this week, the football team will be selling T-shirts to support the Wounded Warrior Project. This is the 10th year the team has helped raise money for this program. T-shirts are only $10 with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.
