*Congratulations to our Jefferson Debate team for their performance at the MN Debate Teacher Association’s JV Novice State Tournament. Elena Plaster, Bree Denniston, and Bella Gutierrez placed as semifinalists in novice Congress debate. Shane Ross and Amal Mohamed made it to the finals. Senior Joseph Shetaye and Junior Darian Whittet both qualified for the MSHSL state debate tournament taking place at the University of Minnesota. Congratulations to all.

*To celebrate the end of finals you can buy a student ticket for tonight’s performance of  a Seussified Christmas Carol for only $2.00. Discounted student tickets are for tonight only.


*The building will be closing at 1:00 today. If you need to stay for an after school practice, you are expected to wait in Flex Hall or the Media Center. Wandering around the building is not acceptable. If you need to wait for a ride, you will need to wait by Door 1. Today is the last day of Trimester 1 and there is no school tomorrow for students. We will see you back here on Monday for the beginning of Trimester 2.

The Bloomington Debate team had a big weekend at Robbinsdale-Cooper to compete in national qualifiers for Congressional Debate. Darian Whittet, Amal Mohamed, Caroline Harding, Shane Ross, and Dhruvika Uppal all made it to semifinals in the House. Senior Joseph Shetaye placed 2nd in the Senate and qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament which will take place in Kentucky in June of 2022.  Congratulations to Joseph and the team for such an outstanding tournament!

*Congratulations to Gabe Imafidon who was named to the Wells Fargo All-State Tournament Team for scoring 18 goals in the state tournament over the weekend.  Way to go, Gabe and way to go, Jets!

MISC:

*If you’re interested in participating in our Memorial Blood Centers blood drive, you can sign up starting this Wednesday during lunch. You have to be 16 or older to participate. All 16 year old students need to have a parental consent form in order to donate blood. If you are 16, pick up your consent form at the sign up table or in the main office. The forms need to be returned to the main office by Wednesday, November 3rd. 1 donation can save up to 3 lives.

*Attention all students who drive to school or who are dropped off by a parent or guardian. The west entrance to the main parking lot will be closed tomorrow. You will not be able to enter the parking lot from that driveway. Please leave home extra early tomorrow morning to be able to navigate the parking lot and still arrive to class on time. Come early, drive carefully, and please be kind and patient!
