September 30TH DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

The cheerleaders will be selling homecoming garters every day this week during lunch in the lunchroom.  Garters are $10 each.  Thank you for your support!

Anyone interested in being part of this years Robotics Team please come to an informational meeting today during homeroom or after school today in room A104.  Please see Mr. Verdegan if you have questions.

Athletics:
Boy’s hockey sign-up meeting is Wednesday, October 7th at 7:20 am in room C10. If you have a conflict, please contact Coach Lindquist prior to the meeting. The puck drops soon.

Congratulations to the varsity girls tennis team on their 7-0 win over Kennedy yesterday.

Career center:

Seniors! If you want to take the ACT on October 24, the late registration period closes this Friday, October 2.  Register online today at actstudent.org.  


A representative from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona will be in the Career Center on Thursday, October 1 at 1:30.  Please sign up in the Career Center today.

Mr. Lang's 4th period AP Stats is eating 1st lunch today.

Congratulations to Renee Szafraniec and Michelle Wang for breaking to octofinals in varsity policy debate at the Mid-American Cup in Des Moines this weekend.  They did well in prelims and won in double octofinals.  It was a great start to our season! 


Career center:

For students interested in attending a Christian college, there is a Christian College Fair taking place Tuesday September 29 from7-9pm at New Life Academy in Woodbury. Check the Career Center announcements on the JHS Career Center webpage or stop by the Career Center for more information.  

A representative from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington will be in the Career Center on Wednesday, September 30 at 10:30.  Please sign up in the Career Center to get a pass.

September 28TH DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

Picture retake day is today teachers please refer to the schedule for the student’s times.
  
Students interested in learning about a career in the construction and building trades are invited to a half-day field trip for hands-on exploration of a variety of jobs and crafts. Thursday, Oct. 1, 8:30-12:30. Free, and transportation provided. Parent permission and RSVP required by 9/28. Pick up a permission slip in the counseling office.

Athletics:

Like to ski? Like to go fast? Please come to the Bloomington HS Alpine team's Jump Start on Sunday, October 4 th, 5:00-7:00pm at the Hyland Ski Area Chalet.  Students (grades 7-12) and their parents are welcome to attend. The Hyland Chalet is located at 8800 Chalet Road, Bloomington.

Career center:

Four college reps will be in the Career Center on Tuesday, Sept 29th.  University of Southern California at 8:15, Grinnell College at10: 30, University of St. Thomas at 1:00, and Colby College at2:00.  If you are interested in meeting with one of these reps, sign up today in the Career Center.  To find out what other colleges will have representatives at Jefferson this fall, check out the bulletin board outside the Career Center for schools, dates and times.

September 24TH DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Guest forms are now available in the choir room for Jefferson students bringing a quest to the Jefferson Homecoming Dance. Any person that does not attend Jefferson will need to have a form filled out and returned to Mr. Kelly today.

Students pick up your pictures from jump-start and 2nd day of school during lunch in the lunchroom or in the counseling office.

Picture retake day is Monday, September 28, 2015 from 7:30am – 12:00pm in the auditorium on the stage.

Spirit week is next week please check the monitor to see what the theme is for each day.

Athletics:
Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team on their 4-0 win over Chanhassen last night at Bloomington stadium.
The win moved the jags into first place in the metro west.  Joe Engel and Zach Motzko were in goal for the team’s third straight shutout.  Hunter Jacobs, Ethan Hight, Lukas Panvica, and Tyler Riemersma scored goals.
