April 30th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Prom is right around the corner if you or your date has any obligations you need to pay them before you can purchase your ticket to the dance. Please check the obligation list posted in the main office window.



ACTIVITIES:

Today during Lunch in the cafeteria Flora will be passing out the T-Shirts for the Diversity Day Run.

If you are interested in running for student council, please pick up an application at lunch or in the counseling office.  All applications are due Friday May 1st.

Interested in being a Pathfinder for next year? Applications are due this Friday, May 1st by 3pm. Applications can still be found online or in C112, C113, the counseling office or the media center


Athletics:

Sign-up now for summer Jag Power. Summer training runs from June 8th to August 14th. Cost is $130. Groups are limited to 40 participants. Sign-up online at the Jefferson Athletics and Activities website

The baseball team went to Chaska last night and beat the previously undefeated Hawks 4-2.  The Jags were led by the pitching of Jake Irvin who pitched a complete game and had 15 strikeouts.  Ted Kalina who continues to swing a hot bat led the offense.  The team travels to Edina today for a 6:30 game vs. the Hornets.  Good luck boys!

ACTIVITIES:

Tomorrow during homeroom there will be NO t-shirt distribution for the Diversity Day Run. The t-shirts will be distributed Friday morning in A-wing before the run.

If you are interested in running for student council, please pick up an application at lunch or in the counseling office.  All applications are due Friday May 1st.


Athletics:

Congratulations to the Jaguar softball team on their 8-3 win over Benilde last night. It was a complete team effort that was highlighted by a great game by sophomore pitcher Ashley Neuenfeldt and excellent defense. The girl’s also want to give a shout out to freshman right fielder Lizzy Walker on her first hit in conference play. GO JAGS!


Career center:

There will be three AP Econ review sessions.  They start right after school and will meet on the following days:
Thursday, April 30th -Micro
Monday, May 4th -Macro
Thursday, May 7th -Free response

A representative from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington will be in the Career Center Wednesday morning at 10:30.  Stop in the Career Center to sign up and get a pass.

Mr. Takalo's homeroom will not be bringing treats tomorrow due to the other scheduled meetings.  

Detention is in room B110.

Congratulations to the boy’s tennis team for their 4-3 victory over Eagan yesterday.  The team is 4-1 and plays conference rival Benilde today at 4:00here at Jefferson.  Come on out to cheer on the Jags in this pivotal conference match up.

Attention Boys and Girls Lacrosse players, you have a homeroom meeting on Wednesday in the Activity Center to turn in your fundraiser forms and money.  This is during the 2nd half of homeroom only for all boys and girls lacrosse players.


Career center:

Attention Juniors ACT room assignments are posted on yellow signs through out the building. Please check the signs to see where your room assignment is. Report directly to your room assignment Tuesday morning for the ACT test.

Mr. Sieling's 4th period class will eat 3rd lunch on today.  Go to Mr. Sieling's room at the beginning of 4th period if you are in his class.


ACTIVITIES:

All Students who signed up to take an AP exam need to meet in the front of the auditorium Wednesday during homeroom for a mandatory AP meeting. Please check in with your homeroom teacher, and then proceed directly to the auditorium. Bring a pencil and a pen. Juniors who are out of the building on a field trip are excused from this meeting; you will fill out your forms during class time sometime in the next 2 weeks. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Lang in C104.

                                                                                                              
Athletics:

Congratulations to the Alyssa Lind, Molly Roach, Rachel Lee and Elena Hayday.  Their 4 by 400 relay got 5th at the Hamline Elite meet on Friday.  Alyssa also got 7th the 400 Meters and Molly 8th in the 800 meters.  On the boy’s side, Colton Myles, Duane Moore, Jeremy Hendricks and Tyler Blanchard got 6th in the 4 by 200 Relay.  Duane also ran a great race in the 100 Meters.  Great job Track athletes.

Boy’s and Girl’s track will dismiss at 1:55 today bus leaves at 2:15.
