SEPTEMBER 28th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
*This coming Monday is the beginning of Homecoming spirit week. Spirit days will include CLASS COLORS DAY, JERSEY DAY, SUPERHERO DAY, TIE DYE/HIPPIE DAY, AND BLUE & WHITE DAY. Come on Monday dressed in your class colors: Freshmen in GRAY, Sophomores in JAG BLUE, Juniors in WHITE, and seniors in BLACK. Staff should dress in Jefferson gear.

MISC:
*The final day for having school pictures taken will be this coming Monday, October 1st. Check with your first hour teacher for your assigned time to report to the auditorium stage. If you have a picture envelope to exchange, please bring it to turn in before having your retakes.

SEPTEMBER 27th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
*There will be an information meeting for any parent or student interested in learning more about the Bloomington debate program, or for anyone who currently has a participant in debate and would like more information.  The meeting will take place at the Jefferson High School media center on October 2 at 7 p.m. Debate is open to all students grades 8-12.

*The Homecoming Dance will be held in the cafeteria on Saturday, October 6, from 8pm -11pm. Tickets are $15 per student and will be for sale in the cafeteria during lunch periods each day beginning Monday, Oct.1st. Students bringing a guest that is not a current Jefferson student must fill out a Guest Form ahead of time. Forms are available in the Main Office, Counseling Office, and outside the choir room door and must be turned in at the Counseling Office no later than tomorrow.

*To all students: there is a short informational meeting for the Jefferson Science Olympiad team today after school in C127. Stop by to see what the team is all about!

ATHLETICS:
*Are you interested in joining the Bloomington Step Team? Join us for a student/parent information session on October 10th at Kennedy High School starting at 3 PM. Step Team is open to all Jefferson and Kennedy students.

MISC:
*TJ Coffeehouse will be open for business tomorrow morning starting at 8:15am. Head to the cafeteria to enjoy your favorite breakfast treats and beverages, including this week’s specialty drink, Pumpkin Spice Latte. Because of the pep fest, the Coffeehouse will be closing around 9:30, so make sure to come early! Using one-dollar bills when making purchases would be greatly appreciated.

*Attention Seniors, there will be a STRIVE meeting tomorrow morning beginning at 7:45am in the red flex space.


ATHLETICS:
*Due to the overwhelming response to boys' Powder Buff Volleyball, we are limiting each boys' volleyball team to the first 12 boys in each grade that have signed up and paid the $10. You need to do this at lunch today or tomorrow.  There will be an optional practice on Thursday after school from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Report to the main gym to find out your court assignment. The volleyball games will take place in the main gym on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 PM.

MISC:

*The Jefferson Cheerleaders will be hosting their annual Jag Jam Dance tonight following the football game.  The doors will open at 9:00pm. The dance is casual so you can come straight from the game. They will have door prizes again this year including a GoPro Hero, Minnesota Gopher football tickets, a pair of Wild tickets, Starbucks and Chipotle gift cards and a few Jaguar spirit wear items.  You must be present to win and the grand prize will be given away when the dance concludes at 11:30pm. The cheerleaders are selling tickets at lunch. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.


ATHLETICS:
*Attention Jefferson boys:  Sign-up during lunch hours for our 1st annual POWDER BUFF boys' volleyball game.  Sign up with your grade level and get ready to compete on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 PM in the main gym.


*For any boys interested in trying Lacrosse for the first time, there are free “Try Lacrosse” clinics being offered at True Lacrosse Training Center on Sept. 24th, Oct 8th, Nov. 12th, and Dec 10th. All clinics are from 8:00pm - 9:00pm. See Mr. Cater in room C107 with any questions.

MISC:
*JTC will be presenting Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap under the direction of former Jefferson High School alumni Erika Sasseville. Come see this murder-mystery on September 27th, 28th, and 29th.


*Homecoming shirts are now on pre-sale in the lunchroom. Stop by the table at lunch and check it out.  Bring $15 and sign up for your shirt today!

*There will be NO JV girls soccer practice today.

The Girls B soccer game has been moved to Brookside.  Team members are responsible for getting themselves to the game.
