FEBRUARY 27th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ACTIVITIES:
The AP Exam registration meeting will be held this Wednesday during Advisory. Check in with your Advisory teacher first and then proceed to the front of the auditorium. This is a mandatory meeting if you plan to take an AP exam this May.

ATHLETICS:
Tryouts for the Jefferson Boys Volleyball team are tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 PM on Court 2 in the Activity Center.  Be there tonight if you want to be a part of this exciting new team.  See Mr. Sieling in B104 if you have any questions.

There will be a baseball meeting tomorrow during the second half of Advisory in the back half of the Cafeteria.  Any player, 9-12 grade, that is planning to try out for baseball needs to attend.

MISC:
Jagcorps would like to encourage you to bring cash donations for the class competition to raise money for clean water around the world. Smaller prizes will be awarded throughout the week to the daily leaders. A grand prize pizza party will be awarded at the end of the week to the class with the highest weekly donation total. The class in second place will receive coupons for TJ Coffeehouse. Remember to bring some extra cash this week for a good cause.

A reminder to Tech Club that you’ll be having a yearbook photo taken tomorrow during your club meeting.

ACTIVITIES:
There is an NHS meeting today after school in the auditorium. Attendance is mandatory. Please email an advisor if you can’t attend.

The AP Exam registration meeting will be held this Wednesday during Advisory. Check in with your Advisory teacher and then proceed to the front of the auditorium. This is a mandatory meeting if you plan to take an AP exam this May.

ATHLETICS:
A reminder to the Jefferson boys distance team that captain’s practice starts today after school. Please meet by the Activity Center entrance at 3:00pm.

There will be a Boys Lacrosse meeting during the second half of Advisory this Wednesday in room C107.

CAREER CENTER:
Representatives from the following universities will be available in the Career Center this week:
University of North Dakota on Tuesday at 1pm
MN State University, Mankato on Wednesday at 10:30am
University of Minnesota, Duluth on Wednesday at 1:30pm

Please sign up online or speak with Mrs. Wallerick in the Career Center if you’re interested in attending one of the sessions.

MISC:

To assure that your permit will be ready for you by the first day of the trimester, your application must be in by Friday, March 9th. To assure that your permit will be ready for you by the first day of the trimester, your application must be in by Friday, March 9th. Just a reminder that a new application must be filled out for Tri 3, even if you have applied for a permit for previous trimesters. Avoid the long lines and apply early!

A reminder to the Jefferson boys distance team that Captain’s Practice starts Monday, February 26th. Please meet by the JHS Activity Center entrance at 3:00pm.

Students: When you login to your Chromebook tomorrow you will be directed to a short survey on your use of technology. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Thank you, in advance, for your participation.

FEBRUARY 8th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ACTIVITIES:
Interested in learning more about 3D printing? There will be a 3D design and print tutorial session today after school in the Media Center. The session will begin at 2:30 and is open to anyone.

ATHLETICS:
Attention girls interested in SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING: There will be an Intro to Synchro night at Olson Middle School pool on Thursday, February 15th from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Learn about the sport, meet the team and get your questions answered. Parents are welcome to attend. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit!

 MISC:
Counselors will be available in the cafeteria to answer registration questions during Academic Seminar this morning.  Students that are assigned to a teacher are still expected to report to their assigned classroom.

ATHLETICS:
There will be an ultimate frisbee meeting after school today beginning at 2:30 in room C25. Anyone who is interested is welcome.

There will be a brief but very important Girls Golf meeting in room C109 immediately after school on Tuesday, February 13th. Important information will be discussed regarding the upcoming spring season. If you cannot attend, please let Coach Evens or Coach Carlson know.



MISC:
Interested in helping the community? Come to the Media Center after school today for an informational meeting about Box City.  Box City is an organization that raises money for the Bloomington Oasis homeless shelter.

Students, today during Advisory you will begin working on registering for classes for next school year. Please remember to bring your Chromebook. Teachers, if you have not done so, please pick up registration materials from your mailboxes.

FEBRUARY 6th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ACTIVITIES:
The Jefferson Clay Target Club will be holding a meeting for anyone interested in learning more about Jefferson's Skeet and Trap Shooting Teams. The meeting has been changed from February 6th to February 22, at 6:00pm in Room A104. Please come to learn more about the team.

ATHLETICS:
There will be an ultimate frisbee meeting after school on Wednesday beginning at 2:30 in room C25. Anyone who is interested is welcome.

MISC:
Attention all Olson Middle Courage Retreat leaders participating on Wednesday: Please remember to turn in your signed permission forms to the Main Office as soon as possible. If you can’t get them in today, please bring them to the retreat tomorrow. Ms. Wetzel will be there at 7:40am to collect any missing forms and take attendance. Email Ms. Wetzel if you have any questions.

FEBRUARY 1st DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

February is "I Love to Read Month."  Students, you can "Get Caught Reading" by your teachers today through February 23rd.  If your teacher sees you reading, he or she may hand you a ticket.  If you receive a ticket, write your name on it and place it in the jar in the Media Center to be eligible to win a fabulous prize!  Tickets will be drawn Monday, February 26th.  Good luck and happy reading!


The Jefferson Clay Target Club will be holding a meeting for anyone interested in learning more about Jefferson's Skeet and Trap Shooting Teams. Please come on Tuesday, February 6th at 6:00PM to Room A104 to learn more.

Baseball players: If you want to order Jefferson baseball apparel, go to the Jefferson baseball web page and get the link to order.  Orders will close February 4th.


Interested in biology and doing research in Costa Rica? This trip is open to 9-12th graders who are interested in doing biological research this summer from July 25th – August 4th.  Students can sell coffee to offset the cost of the trip.  16 students went last summer and they loved it! If interested, please attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 6th at 5:30pm in the Kennedy Flex Space - Room 320 - to learn more about this opportunity.
