ATHLETICS:
*Athletic lockers for all boy fall athletes must be cleaned out by 2:45pm on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to get ready for the winter sports season. Any personal items found in the lockers will be put in lost and found and any missing athletic items will be added under your name on the obligations list.

MISC:
*Seniors, this is an important reminder that there is a mandatory graduation meeting tomorrow, Thursday, November 1, during Academic Seminar in the auditorium. Please see Ms. Jarvis or Ms. Duffy in the Main Office with any questions. Check your school email for more details.

OCTOBER 30th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
*Miss the first day of girls basketball, captains? Practice will continue in the Activity Center daily from 3-4:30pm for the next two weeks. This Wednesday is a Halloween practice, so come dressed in your best costume that won’t interfere with play. Tryouts are the following week on November 12th at 3pm sharp. All are invited, so come check it out!

ATHLETICS:
*There will be a baseball meeting tomorrow during the 2nd half of advisory period. The meeting will take place in the activity center and is open to all interested 9-12 graders.

MISC:
*Just a quick reminder about Halloween. Please enjoy Halloween, but as a friendly reminder, no masks or face paint, and make sure that you can be easily identified.  If you have any questions about your costume, see your administrator and/or bring a change of clothes.

*If you are a senior interested in applying for federal student aid for college, consider attending the FAFSA application help session at Jefferson tomorrow evening, October 30th, from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.

OCTOBER 26th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATHLETICS:
*Bloomington Nordic Ski Season is just around the corner, with a kick-off meeting for skiers and parents in the Jefferson High School cafeteria on Monday, October 29th at 6:30 pm.  Nordic skiing, also known as cross-country skiing, is open to all high school students. No prior experience is needed! There is a limited amount of season rental equipment available for a small fee.

*Congratulations to juniors Megan Narveson and Colden Longley for qualifying for the State Cross Country meet last night at the section 3AA meet. They will represent Jefferson next Saturday at St. Olaf.

*Attention Jaguars: the grace period for hats and hoods is over.  Starting Monday, Oct. 29, students wearing a hat/hood will get a lunch detention each time an adult asks you to remove it.

CAREER CENTER:
For students applying to college: October is College Knowledge month, which means that from now until this Friday, October 26th, you may apply to Minnesota state colleges for free.

MISC:
*TJ Coffeehouse will be open for business this Friday beginning at 8:15am. Come for your favorite treats and beverages that morning. Please note that during the end of the 1st hour customer rush, the TJ Coffeehouse makes every effort to move customers through one of the four cashier lines as efficiently as possible.  When you visit the Coffeehouse, please consider making your purchases with ample time to arrive to your second hour class. *We will be having a school-wide election for Governor today during the lunch hours. Jefferson is one of 218 schools participating in the vote. Vote and let your voice be heard!

*Tomorrow is Unity Day. All staff and students are encouraged to wear orange in support of bullying prevention.

OCTOBER 16th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATHLETICS:

*If you interested in trying out for the Kolleens Competitive Dance Team, tryouts will begin on Monday, October 22. Even though Monday is not a school day, tryouts will still be held at 3:15pm in the Kennedy Activity Center. You MUST register and pay your winter athletic fee in order to tryout.

Captain’s practices start Nov. 5th after school at Jefferson, with the official start of the season on Nov. 12th.
No prior experience is needed!  There is a limited amount of rental equipment available for a small fee.  Come join the fun and get involved in a great lifetime sport!

*Today is the last chance for boys 9th, 10th, and JV soccer players to turn in their uniforms and locks before having their names added to the obligation list.  Please turn this equipment in to Mr. Walton in the boys locker room right after school.

MISC:

*Any student interested in joining the Math Team should plan on attending the first practice today at 3:00pm in Room C123.  Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays after school. You can join the team any time during the season. If you have questions, ask a math teacher for the coach's contact information.

ATHLETICS:
*Boys 9th, 10th and JV soccer players: Uniform turn in and lock turn in will be today right after school in the boys locker room.  Any locks or uniforms that are not turned in directly to Mr. Walton will be added to the obligation list.

ACTIVITIES:
*Attention 9th graders! A reminder that the 9th grade retreat is tomorrow, Friday, October 12, for students with last names beginning with letters M-Z. All students must report directly to the auditorium by 7:50 AM to be considered on time. This is a required event for students.
*We advise you to leave your backpacks and valuables at home on this day; there will not be a place for you to store your bags and valuables during the retreat. You are welcome to put your belongings in your locker prior to the retreat. A bag lunch will be available for purchase on this day; you are also welcome to bring your own lunch.
Please stop by the Main Office with any questions.

OCTOBER 8th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
*Anyone interested in the Jefferson Robotics Club please come to an informational meeting Tuesday, October 9th at 6:00 pm in room A104.

*There will be a voter registration drive during all lunch periods on October 9th, 10th, and 11th. If you are 18 years old or will be 18 on or before November 6th, bring your drivers license or Social Security number to the lunchroom and register to vote in this year’s election.

*Attention 9th graders! A reminder that the 9th grade retreat starts tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9 for students with last names A-L. Students with the last names M-Z will attend the retreat on Friday, October 12.
All students will report directly to the Auditorium on their designated day; all students must be in the auditorium by 7:50 AM to be considered on time. This is a required event for students.

*This is an important announcement for BCCA, DCTC, HTC students: Please note that even though we have a schedule change at Jefferson today, your bus schedule has not changed. The departure times remain the same, so please report to your buses at your regularly scheduled time.

*Spirit Week continues tomorrow with Jersey Day. Come to school dressed in your favorite team jersey. You will be permitted to wear a hat tomorrow.
