April 30th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*Attention 10th graders: On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week you will be taking the MCA Science exam in Biology class. Please be sure to arrive to class with your fully charged Chromebook! Please see Ms. Jarvis with any testing questions.

*There will be an NHS meeting today after school in the Auditorium.

*ATTENTION 10th & 11th GRADERS WHO NEED TO TAKE THEIR MCA TEST AND HAVE NOT SCHEDULED THE MAKEUP TEST:
Check your Jefferson email account for information about how to schedule your test. Please schedule your test as soon as possible.

*Art Students from Tri 1 and Tri 2, please pick up your artwork by the end of this week.

*Attention Seniors:  All books, fines and Chromebook fees are due in the Media Center by Wednesday, May 9th. If you need to keep a library book longer because you’re using it for a class, you must clear it with a Media Center staff member. Seniors must take care of all obligations to receive their cap, gown, and graduation tickets on May 14th.

*Attention Students in Grades 9-11:  Books, fines and Chromebook fees are due in the Media Center by Friday, May 25th.  The last day to checkout books in the Media Center for students in grades 9-11 is Friday, May 18th.

Please make sure to return materials and pay fines and fees on time.  Any student with a book out after May 25th will be assessed a $5 late fee.  Obligations may be viewed in Infinite Campus under Fees.

*Attention Sophomores and Juniors applying to be a Pathfinder for next year. This is a reminder that the application is due today by 3:00pm. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Meyering in C113 or Ms. Lauer in C112.


*All students are encouraged and welcomed to audition to be a part of next year's auditioned choirs - Jive and Connection!
Vocal Auditions will be held in the choir room after school from April 30 through May 4th. The audition takes less than 5 minutes and you do not need to have anything prepared.
Dance Auditions will be held from 4-5pm on May 2nd and May 3rd. Students only need to attend 1 day. You do not need to have anything prepared, but be sure to dress comfortably.
If you have any questions, please see Mr. Brown in the choir room.

*The JHS Chess Team competed at the Minnesota State Chess Association’s Scholastic Statewide Tournament on March 24-25. On an individual basis in the K-12th grade section, senior David Floeder achieved 5th place, junior Aaron Thomson placed 6th, and 9th grader Serena French placed 9th. Junior Joshua French also competed and helped the team tie for 2nd place. They brought home the 3rd place trophy in a tie breaker, tournament ending game. Congratulations chess players!

ATHLETICS:
*Practices for both Varsity and JV Girls Lacrosse for today are at 4:25pm in JAC 2-3.

Each year, the American Legion Boys and Girls States are among the most respected and selective educational programs for government instruction for high school students. Girls and Boys States are participatory programs where each student becomes a part of a model government that reflects our federal system of government. Our congratulations go to Abigail Faulk, Ella Jones, Charles Maki, and Ryan Martz who have been selected to represent Jefferson High School at Boys and Girls States.
