October 31st DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

MISC:
Stop by the Hurricane Relief Table today during your lunch and purchase hot chocolate, rice crispies, and water for $0.50 each.  This is a great cause! All money will be donated to help our friends in Puerto Rico.

The Test Center will be closed for the entire day this Friday, November 3rd.

A Cappella group auditions are this week before or after school in the choir room.
Audition material can be found outside the choir room (E100). This is open to any JHS students!

TJ Coffeehouse is now open for business.  All of your favorite items are on sale along with two new items: Pumpkin Spice Bagels and Caramel Frappe. Remember, there is one entrance and one exit for the TJ Coffeehouse. Enter on the far side of the cafeteria near the gymnasium and exit near the salad bar location. To make your transactions as convenient as possible, bring one-dollar bills for your purchase. Thank you and we hope to see you there!

ATHLETICS:
There will be a Girls Basketball meeting with the head coach on Monday, Oct. 30th at 3pm in the Cafeteria.  A captains’ practice is being held at 3pm in the Activity Center on the same day.

MISC:

Please come attend the Fall Choir Concert tonight at 7pm in the Auditorium. The concert features all the Jefferson choirs and the men's a cappella group, The Limestones, from St. Olaf College.

Open auditions for the men's and women's a cappella groups at Jefferson High School will be next week, anytime before or after school. Audition materials are outside the choir room and ALL are welcome to audition.

MISC:
Seniors, there is a mandatory graduation meeting on Wednesday during Advisory. Please report to the Main Gym at the start of Advisory; you do not need to check in at your classroom first. Attendance will be taken in the gym.

Speech Team meeting in room B-104.  The Speech Team is also offering a second meeting date this Thursday at 2:30pm if you can’t attend on Wednesday.

ACTIVITIES:
Have you ever thought about learning to scuba dive?
If so, then Scuba Club is for you.
There will be an informational meeting for students next Wednesday, Oct. 25th in C126 during the second half of Advisory.
Come to the meeting to find out how to get scuba certified here in Minnesota, or maybe go on the trip to Grand Cayman this summer.
Even if you're a little curious, come check it out. All are welcome.
If you can't make it, stop by and talk with Mr. Stenbeck to pick up a brochure.
Remember, the meeting is next Wednesday during the second half of Advisory in room C126.

ATHLETICS:
There will be a Boys Hockey Sign-Up meeting on Wednesday, October 25th during the second half of Advisory. Be in room C-10 by 9:55 that day. If you have a conflict, see Coach Lindquist prior to the meeting.

Come and support the Jaguar Cross Country team at the conference championship today at Hyland Greens. Boys JV run at 3:00, Girls Varsity at 3:30, Boys Varsity at 4:00, and Boys JV at 4:30.

Attention all levels of boys soccer players:  Today beginning at 2:45 in the boys locker room is your last day to turn in your uniforms and locks.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Walton in room C-06.

Bloomington Nordic Ski Season is just around the corner, with a kick-off meeting for skiers and parents at the Jefferson High School Choir Room on October 30th at 6:30 pm.  Nordic skiing is open to all high school students. No prior experience is needed! A limited amount of rental equipment is available for a small fee.  Join the fun and get involved in a great lifetime sport!

Attention all 9th, 10th and JV Boys Soccer players: Equipment turn-in is today at 2:20pm in the boys locker room. Any equipment not returned at this time will result in your name being added to the obligation list.

MISC:
Attention 9th graders!
A reminder that the 9th grade retreat is tomorrow, Friday, October 13 for students with last names Lo-Z.
Students should report directly to the Auditorium and must be in the Auditorium by 7:50 AM to be considered on time. This is a required event for students.
We advise you to leave your backpacks and valuables at home on this day; there will not be a place for you to store your bags and valuables during the retreat. You are welcome to put your belongings in your locker prior to the retreat.
​A peanut butter and jelly sandwich bag lunch will be available for purchase on this day; you are also welcome to bring your own lunch.

Students with the last names Lo-Z will attend the retreat on Friday, October 13.
All students should report directly to the Auditorium on their designated day; all students must be in the auditorium by 7:50am to be considered on time. This is a required event.

There will be a brief but very important Boys Basketball meeting next Tuesday morning before school at 7:30am in room C109. The meeting is for all boys, grades 9-12, who are interested in trying out for the basketball teams.
