October 29th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:
Freshmen interested in running for student council pick up the application form in the counseling office.  Once the form is submitted, campaigning can begin.  Make a difference.  Run for student council.


Athletics:

Jag Volleyball advances to section semi-finals!  Come cheer them on against Hopkins on Wednesday Nov 4 @7pm.  The game will be played at St. Louis Park High School.


Career center:

A representative from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa will be in the Career Center on Monday, Nov. 2 at 9:30.  Cornell is listed in the "Colleges That Change Lives" book, and at Cornell, students take one class at a time.  If you're interested in hearing more, sign up in the Career Center today.

October 29th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

TJ Coffee house is tomorrow from 8:15-10:15. Please come and see the new items that are available this year.

Detention will be in rooms C117 and C115 after school at 2:20.

It is the last day to signup for the blood drive at lunch today! The blood drive is tomorrow all day in the main gym, donate blood and help save up to 3 lives!

Career center:

Practice ACT test-takers; remember to bring your $15 test fee to the Career Center or the counseling office. The deadline to sign up is this Friday. 

A reminder to juniors and seniors: If you are on free or reduced lunch or can demonstrate a financial need, you are eligible to apply for fee waivers for ACT and SAT testing, as well as for transcripts and some college applications.  See your counselor for more information.  


A representative from the University of Minnesota-Rochester will be in the Career Center on Friday, OCt. 30 at 9:30. UMR focuses solely on the health sciences, and partners with the Mayo Clinic to provide immersion into a community dedicated to health care.  Sign up today in the Career Center if you're interested.

October 27th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

There will be a math team meeting during homeroom this week to make sure all paperwork is complete for the meet on Monday.  Please see Ms. Woods if you cannot attend.

Jefferson Cheer will be hosting their 7th annual Cheer Jam Competition on Saturday, November 7th at 10:30am at Jefferson High School. All JHS students and staff will be admitted free of charge with their ID. Come cheer on all three of Jefferson's competition teams!


Career center:

A college representative from Miami University of Ohio will be in the Career Center on Wed. October 28 at 12:00.  If you have 2nd lunch, please bring it with you.  Sign up in the Career Center if you're interested.


A US Navy rep will be in the Career Center on Wednesday during lunches.  If you would like to meet with him, please stop by the Career Center to sign up.

Boys Soccer Players will be turning in all equipment on Tuesday, Oct 27 right after school.  Meet in the locker room.

Come cheer on your Jaguar Volleyball Team!  They play in round 2 of sections at Hopkins on Thursday Oct 29 @ 7pm! 


Career center:

The rep for Winona State will be in the Career Center on Monday, October 26 at 1:00.  Please sign up in the Career Center if you're interested.​


Admissions reps from University of Minnesota-Morris, MSU-Mankato, and University of North Dakota will be at Jefferson on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Morris at 9:30, Mankato at 9:30, and UND at 10:30.  Please sign up in the Career Center if you're interested.

October 23rd DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

It's not too late to try out for Jefferson Basketball Cheerleading!  We have extended tryouts one more day.  If you are interested in trying out, please come to JAC court 1 at 3:30 on Friday, October 23.  Any questions, please contact Coach Molly.

If you are planning to take the practice ACT on Nov. 7, you can sign up online on the Jefferson homepage.  If you have already registered, but not yet paid your $15, remember to bring your check for $15 to the counseling office or career center by Friday, Oct. 30. Registration closes on the 30th.
