October 19th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

The City of Bloomington is recruiting applicants to serve on a task force that will look at the potential of a new community center and want community input. You can find applications on the City of Bloomington webpage under community center task force or stop by the main office and see Ms. Espy. Applications for the task force are due October 20.

It's Teen Read Week Oct. 18-23.  Get caught reading by any teacher and receive a ticket. Turn your ticket into the media center by Friday, October 23, and you could be eligible to win a Caribou Coffee gift card.  We will draw 5 names Monday, Oct. 26.  Come to the media center to choose your book today!

It's not too late to join the Math Team.
We have our first practice tonight at 2:45 in C102.

Athletics:

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing basketball on Tuesday Oct 20th starting at 7:15 AM in the PE classroom.  Tryout and season information will be discussed.  Contact Coach Meinhardt if you are unable to attend.

Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team on their section 2AA win over Chaska 2-1
Scoring goals were Tyler Remirsma and Mackel Mackbee.  Assisting in the game-winning goal was Luke Yueill.  Joe Engel was in goal for the win. Next up for the Jags is Tuesday night’s game at Edina at 7pm.  Winner plays for the chance to go to state Thursday night at 7pm.

Attention any boys interested in LACROSSE for this upcoming Spring, we have an informational meeting in C107 - Coach Cater's Room during the 2nd half of homeroom on Wednesday, this meeting is mandatory for all boys interested in lacrosse and is open to anyone that is interested in finding out more about the team. 

Career center:

Drexel University in Philadelphia, and University of Central Florida in Orlando​ will have representatives in the Career Center on Tuesday, October 20: Drexel at 9:30 and Central Florida at10:30.  If interested, sign up in the Career Center.

Tonight is the College Panel!  Join nine college admissions reps in the auditorium tonight at 6:30 to find out more about the college application process, differences among the various college systems, and answers to whatever questions you have.  Parents and students are welcome! See you tonight at the College Panel!
