September 14th DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

Its time to nominate for Homecoming Court! Please stop by the counseling office in person to nominate / or accept a nomination before 3:30 pm today Monday, September 14th. The person being nominated must be in good standing and sign an acceptance form in the counseling office.

Guest forms are now available in the choir room for Jefferson students bringing a guest to the Jefferson Homecoming Dance. Any person that does not attend Jefferson will need to have a form filled out and returned to Mr. Kelly by Wednesday, September 23.

There will be a parent meeting for those interested in traveling to Costa Rica over spring break held in Sra. Brooke-Beyer's room (C2) immediately following the Open House on tonight.

Athletics:

Jefferson swim team competed at the 2015 Eagle Invitational hosted by Kennedy Swim/Dive last weekend.
Jefferson won the Invite with a score of 693.

Career center:

Sophomores and juniors, the PSAT test will be given at Jefferson on Wednesday, October 14 at 8am.  This test serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test​. If you want to be eligible for National Merit Scholarships, you MUST take this test your junior year.  Online registration can be found on the Jefferson home page and the Career Center page.  Sign up online and then bring in a $25 check payable to ISD 271 to the counseling office.  Your registration will not be complete until you have paid.  Please register early.



 The ASVAB, or Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test will be given at Jefferson on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7:50.  This test is required for entrance into the military.  There is no cost to take the ASVAB and any student can take it.  Register online by going to the Jefferson home page or Career Center page to access the registration form.  The ASVAB test is less than 2 weeks away, so sign up now.
