Seniors -- it's time to check the diploma
list to be sure that your name is spelled correctly! Please stop at the counseling desk to check
the list and also to fill out a card with the phonetic pronunciation of your
name as well as other information that is required. You have until this Friday, February 6th to
do this!
ACTIVITIES:
Congratulations to the following speech team members
for their performances at the Marshall Tournament last weekend:
Kathy Wang, Priscilla Arroza, Jeremy Kuoch, and Emma
Liddle advanced to quarterfinals, Ella Marzolf placed 6th in humorous, Alexa
Schirber placed 3rd in novice humorous, and Maren Koester was champion in
novice discussion. Students competing at
Apple Valley this weekend need to be on the bus Saturday at 7:00 AM.
Athletics:
Congratulations Bloomington Nordic skiers Tamer
Mische-Richter and Alex Larson. Both qualified for the state meet next week.
Tamer dominated section 3 winning by over a minute and Alex finished 6th. Wish
them luck.
The Bloomington Jefferson alpine team had their
section race yesterday at Buck Hill.
Out of 21 teams, the Jefferson boys finished third
overall and the girl’s team finished tenth.
Individual honors go to junior captain Ryan Murray
(who finished eighth overall), freshman Morgan Gasser (8th) and sophomore Kaari
Garnett (15th).
Ryan, Morgan and Kaari qualified as individuals for
the state meet to be held at Giant’s Ridge Ski Area on February 11.
Congratulations to the gymnastics team in their win over St. Anthony
133.5 to 120.95 to finish 3-1 in the conference.
Francesca Schack won vault and placed 2nd on floor.
Hannah Mellesmoen won beam and placed 2nd on vault and all around.
Leah Dargis placed 2nd on bars.
Next meet will be Sections at Chanhassen High School on Friday, February
13th at 5:00pm.
